How To: Light Shabbat Candles 🕯️🕯️ Simple

Lighting Shabbat Candles bring peace to the home. This mitzva is most commonly done by Jewish women. However, in the following cases the man would light. 1) if she’s away or 2) if the man is not married and he lives alone in these cases the man should light the candles himself. There are a variety of customs when coming to Candle lighting. My video is based on the standard Sephardic customs. The goal of my videos are to enable Jews to get started today, without getting lost in the variety of customs and details - so you can fulfill the mitzva in its most basic form as soon as possible. The most common custom is to light two candles 18 minutes before sunset on Friday. The time of Candle lighting is very special - and an opportune time for praying to God, and asking for all your hearts desires.
